Abstract
Three groups of 20 male and 10 female Cr1:CDBR rats were exposed nose-only, 6 hours/day, 5 days/week for 2 weeks to 110, 370 or 1100 ppm of diethylene glycol dimethyl ether (diglyme) vapor in air. A positive control group of 20 male and 10 female rats was exposed to 300 ppm of 2-methoxyethano1 (2-ME) vapor in air and a procedural control group of 20 male and 10 female Crl:CDBR rats was exposed to air-only. At the end of the 2-week exposure and the 14-day post exposure recovery periods, blood and urine samples were collected for hematologic and clinical chemical analyses from 5 male and 5 female rats per group; these rats were then killed for pathologic examination. The remaining male rats (2 groups of 5 rats per group) were killed after an extended recovery period of either 42 or 84 days post exposure and subjected to the same hematologic, clinical chemical and pathological examinations.
