Abstract |
A new preprocessor has been developed which enhanced the implementation of ground water flow models using the analytic element method. This preprocessor allows the user to generate model elements from digital maps which can be created by the preprocessor's digitizing module or imported from various electronic data sources. Once a set of model elements has been defined, the preprocessor allows the user to modify his model as necessary for refinement and calibration. Model results are improved by enhancing the modeler's ability to perform many simulations, adjusting assumed boundary conditions and testing hypotheses. While the preprocessor is capable of generating input files for many element modelling programs, versions are currently available for the CZAEM (Capture Zone Analytic Element Model) and GFLOW1 (Conjunctive Ground Water/Surface Water Model) programs. |
