Abstract
The purpose of the Symposium was to present the latest significant research findings from ongoing and recently completed projects funded by the Risk Reduction Engineering Laboratory (RREL). These Proceedings are organized in four sections: Sessions A, B, and A/B consist of paper presentations. Session C contains the poster abstracts. Subjects include remedial action treatment and control technologies for waste disposal, landfill liner and cover systems, personnel protection, underground storage tanks, and demonstration and development of innovative/alternative treatment technologies for hazardous waste. Alternative technology subjects include thermal destruction of hazardous wastes, field evaluations, existing treatment options, emerging treatment processes, waste minimization, and biosystems for hazardous waste destruction.
