This report is intended to provide an overview of the current status of the research being conducted with Department of Energy support on the health and environmental effects of diesel exhaust emissions. Emphasis has been given to describing the major activity under way at the Inhalation Toxicology Research Institute with some attention given to complementary studies being conducted in other laboratories with Department of Energy support.
