Abstract
In a submission which was hand-delivered to the EPA Administrator's Office, Exxon Chemical Americas provided a summary of preliminary results from the first phase of a 90-day inhalation study of dicyclopentadiene (CAS No. 77-73-6) in male and female Fisher 344 rats. According to the submission, male rats exposed to the chemical at 1, 5, and 50 ppm were found to have varying degrees of anatomical and/or functional kidney changes which were apparently dose related. The submitter reported that the observed changes are non-specific and are those which are found in that particular rat strain during the normal aging process and/or following toxic insult.
