| Abstract | The decision document presents the selected interim remedial actions for the Well Number 3 ground water operable units. The Well Number 3 Subsite is a subsite of the Hastings Ground Water Contamination Site, Hastings, Nebraska. The interim action ROD addresses two separate areas of groundwater contamination. Plume 1 is characterized by carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) and chloroform (CHCl3) contamination. Plume 2 is characterized primarily by trichloroethene (TCE), 1,1,1-trichloroethane (TCA), tetrachloroethene (PCE) and dichloroethene (DEC) contamination. These interim ground water remedies were developed to protect public health, welfare and the environment by controlling the migration and reducing the volume and mass of contaminants present in the ground water beneath and downgradient from each source area of the Well Number 3 Subsite. |
