| Abstract |
Potato processing, waste treatment, and current and needed research in water quality control in this production field are discussed. A brief description is given of general characteristics of the potato and the effects and importance of cultural and environmental conditions on potato processing. General descriptions of the production processes are included and the literature is extensively reviewed to present current and proposed waste treatment technology. The most urgent research needs are discussed together with suggested methods for meeting these needs. (WRSIC abstract) |
