Abstract
This training module addresses the financial assurance standards, explaining first the allowable financial assurance mechanisms and then the extent of financial coverage required. This module identifies the types of facilities subject to the financial assurance requirements for closure and post-closure; calculates cost estimates; describes the allowable mechanisms for financial assurance, including which mechanisms can be used together and under what conditions; explains the financial assurance requirements for accident liability coverage; discusses the applicability of suddent and nonsudden liability provisions; specifies the amount of liability coverage required for single facilities and multiple facilities; and lists allowable mechanisms and combinations of mechanisms that can be used to satsify financial assurance liability requirements.
