Abstract
This Regulatory Impact Analysis (RIA) document addresses expected impacts of the Stage 1 Disinfectants/Disinfection Byproducts Rule (Stage 1 DBPR) including improvements to public health and costs to industry and consumers. Factors considered in the analysis were: protection of public health, exposure, health hazards, risk assessment and uncertainty, compliance cost and treatment effectiveness, national benefit/cost comparisons, household benefit/cost comparisons, central tendency estimates of net benefits and considerations of alternatives. Appendices contain various cost and statistical analyses.
