This report highlights these other community benefits and potential redevelopment opportunities to create more vibrant, healthy, safe, and sustainable communities. Specifically, the report highlights the potential use of brownfields for agriculture and food systems, arts and culture, housing and mixed uses, and other community and civic uses such as greenspace, schools, and health care facilities. Of course, these benefits and the Brownfields Program itself could not occur without our numerous federal, state, municipal, nonprofit, and private sector partners, who we highlight throughout the report. The purpose of this report is to help us all rethink, make new connections, and broaden our idea of the resources available to clean up brownfields properties, revitalize our communities, create new economic opportunities, and improve our nations environment and health.
