| Abstract | The volume is the companion to the second annual report of the Intergovernmental Task Force on Monitoring Water Quality (ITFM). In its second year, the ITFM and its task groups concentrated on developing the building blocks needed to implement their recommended national strategy for monitoring water quality. These products, which are in various stages of preparation, include: National Charter; Monitoring Framework; Indicator Selection Criteria; Environmental Indicators; Methods and Data Comparability Council; Comparability and Performance-Based Methods; and Use of Ecoregions, Reference Conditions, and Index Calibration. |
