Abstract

The report presents the results of a preliminary determination of the feasibility of resource recovery for the Columbus/Muscogee County, Georgia area. This determination involved development of first order estimates of the quantity of waste generated by Columbus, Muscogee County, and Fort Benning; evaluation of the market potential for energy recovery; development and evaluation of an appropriate resource recovery alternative; a preliminary assessment of the environmental considerations associated with that alternative; and identification of major tasks to be performed prior to deciding to implement a resource recovery project.
