Abstract | This report presents the findings of a workshop held in Miami, Florida from November 27 to December 1, 1989, under the auspices of the Coastal Zone Management Subgroup of the IPCC Working Group III. More than 100 scientists and government officials from 37 nations met to discuss potential strategies to adapt to sea level rise and other impacts of global climate change, and to consider the social, economic, legal, environmental, financial, and cultural implications of such strategies. This workshop focused on the Americas, Europe, the Mediterranian, and Western Africa. |
