Abstract
The 44 million citizens of the southeastern United States are particularly vulnerable to the effects of global warming, according to A. Stanley Meiburg, deputy administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Region 4. Meiburg was the opening speaker at an EPA-sponsored public conference on global climate change, held in Atlanta on September 16, 1997.
