Abstract |
This report was prepared in response to Sec. 403b of the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1977. Together with 'Odors from Stationary and Mobile Sources' prepared by the National Academy of Sciences it constitutes the Report to Congress of EPA. This report surveys current State and local odor regulations, evaluates the effectiveness of regulations similar in form to those that might be promulgated under the Clean Air Act, and then discusses the advantages and disadvantages of alternative Clean Air Act regulatory strategies. The report concludes that federal regulatory involvement in odor control does not appear to be warranted at this time. |
