Abstract |
This decision document presents the selected remedial action for the Central Facilities Area (CFA) Landfills I, II, and III located at the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory (INEL). Due to the uncertainty associated with the landfill contents and the need for containment of the landfill contents, a remedial action of containment is waranted for the site, even though the risk assessment indicates that the CFA landfills do not currently present an unacceptable risk to human health or the environment. Implementation of the remedial action selected in this ROD will provide for containment of the waste with a native soil cover, institutional controls, and monitoring. |
