Abstract
The report discusses the testing program conducted on a chain-grate stoker boiler with a blended coal and wood waste fuel. The boiler was designed to produce 18,000 lb/hr of saturated steam at 150 psig. The objective of the tests was to determine the difference, if any, in the performance and the emissions of the boiler co-firing wood and coal as compared to firing coal alone. Four different coals with different sulfur contents were fired with the wood waste. The wood waste content was varied up to 2/3 by volume.
