Abstract
The Development Document describes the technical rationale for the development of regulations limiting discharges of pollutants into navigable waters and into publicly owned treatment works by existing and potential new sources that manufacture certain inorganic chemicals. The technological basis for effluent limitations guidelines based on 'best practable technology', 'best available technology', 'best conventional technology', and new source performance standards and pretreatment standards for new and existing sources are described in detail.
