Abstract
Young adult, female Squirrel monkeys were administered by mouth, hexachlorophene in oil daily for 28 days. Two monkeys were placed on each of the following treatments: oil only, and 1, 5 or 15 mg/kg body wt. Following the treatment period one animal of each group was sacrificed. In view of the limited data, the authors regard the findings as tentative. Nevertheless, they appear suggestive enough to warrant further studies on the feasibility of using EEG as an early indicator of the effects of hexachlorophene.
