Abstract
This draft procedure is intended for use by EPA in the development of standardized methods for the determination of perfluorinated carboxylic acids, perfluorinated sulfonic acids, methyl and ethyl perfluroro-octanesulfonamides, and (methyl and ethyl sulfonamido)-ethanols in sewage sludge and biosolids. The procedure employs high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) combined with tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS). This procedure may be applied to various solids from sewage treatment plant operations, including sewage sludge and biosolids. Sewage sludge is the solid, semisolid, or liquid organic material that results from the treatment of domestic wastewater by municipal wastewater treatment plants.
