Abstract
In July 2007, US EPA contracted with Perrin Quarles Associates, Inc. who subcontracted with Ricardo, Inc. to perform vehicle simulation modeling to estimate the impact of various technology packages on carbon dioxide emissions. The resulting report from Ricardo provides a detailed assessment of the carbon dioxide emissions reduction potential of a large number of conventional vehicle technology packages involving engine and transmission technologies as well as improvements in aerodynamics, tires, and accessories. The PQA-Ricardo report is entitled A Study of Potential Effectiveness of Carbon Dioxide Reducing Vehicle Technologies. This document contains three components. First is the summary of the peer reviewers comments and the response to those comments from EPA and/or Ricardo. Following this is the EPA charge letter to the peer reviewers which describes their task and what EPA requested from them in terms of deliverables. Lastly, is the peer reviewers submitted biographies and their comments on the draft PQA-Ricardo report.
