Abstract |
A gas chromatographic method for volatile aromatics in which an aqueous sample is purged directly to a cryogenically cooled, fused silica column uses a Nafion tube drier between the purge vessel and GC column to selectively remove water from the analyte-containing purge stream. Volatile aromatics are focused on the cold capillary column with subsequent oven temperature programming for GC analysis. Examples of the technique have been presented on a 5.3 mm, DB-5 column.
