| Abstract | The study described is a well-conducted proportional mortality study. A commendable effort was made to trace records for all deceased past employees, and there is no reason to suppose that those untraced, due to migration, would have influenced the results. The use of an experienced nosologist was a wise precaution which will have further eliminated bias from the study. The analytical technique is crude, but a more refined calculation would probably make little difference to the results. |
