Abstract
The major purpose underlying the Treatability Study is to evaluate the achievable performance of proposed Best Available Technologies (BAT) for the treatment and control of pollutant discharges, and to provide empirical treatment system performance information applicable to selected inorganic chemical subcategories. The study specifically concentrated on those subcategories in the Inorganic Chemicals Industry for which analytical data on raw waste waters and treated effluents either do not exist or are deficient, and for which data are needed for purposes of comparison with proposed effluent limitations currently being proposed by the Effluent Guidelines Division of the Environmental Protection Agency.
