Acute oral toxicity (method of administration not reported) was evaluated in groups of 10 Cox CD rats (sex not reported) administered single doses of triethanolamine at dose levels of 2.6, 3.64, 5.10, and 7.14 ml/kg body weight. Mortality was observed in 2 animals at 3.64 ml/kg and 10 each at 5.10 and 7.14 ml/kg. The LD50 was 4.03 ml/kg (95% confidence interval = 3.68-4.41 ml/kg). Clinical observations and gross necropsy results were not reported.
