Abstract
The report gives results of field measurements made on a 75,000 lb/hr coal-fired spreader-stoker boiler. The effects of various parameters on boiler emissions and efficiency were studied. Parameters included overfire air, flyash reinjection, excess air, boiler load, and fuel properties. Measurements included O2, CO2, NO, NO2, SO2, SO3, HC, controlled and uncontrolled particulate loading, particle size distribution of the uncontrolled flyash, and combustible content of the ash. In addition to test results and observations, the report describes the facility tested, coals fired, test equipment, and procedures. Particulate loading on this unit averaged 5.09 lb/million Btu uncontrolled and 0.28 lb/million Btu controlled at full load. Nitric oxide emissions averaged 0.49 lb/million Btu (360 ppm) at full load.
