Abstract | A modification of the Michel method for red cell or plasma cholinesterase has been developed. In this method, the initial pH reading is omitted, and the enzyme reaction is started by adding a mixture of buffer and acetylcholine to the diluted sample. The results are identical to those obtained by the Michel method, but twice as many samples can be analyzed within a given length of time. |
