Abstract
The report describes a computer model, developed for coking facilities, that allows the user to determine the optimum mix of pollution control devices to achieve a specified reduction in pollutant emission at the minimum annualized or capital cost. The computer program calculates and displays: the associated cost for each emission control; the total capital and annualized cost for the optimum mix of controls; and the emission levels in pounds of pollutant per ton of coal and tons of pollutant per year for each of the four pollutant types (total suspended solids, benzene-soluble organics, benzo(a)pyrene, and benzene). The program can consider 20 emission sources and 9 control options for each emission source.
