Evidence on potential carcinogenicity from animal studies is 'Sufficient,' and the evidence on human studies is 'Sufficient'. The potency factor (F) for benzene is estimated to be 0.27 (mg/kg/day)(1-), placing it in potency group 3 under the CAG's methodology for evaluating potential carcinogens. Combining the weight-of-evidence group and the potency group, benzene is assigned a 'MEDIUM' hazard ranking. |
