Abstract |
The paper gives preliminary results of a study of radon control techniques in 14 houses in New Jersey. The study is part of a comprehensive project to: investigate the fundamentals of soil gas flow and radon entry into buildings and the factors that influence the entry rate; develop a diagnostic procedure for specifying appropriate and effective remedial measures; and better understand the operation of certain mitigation techniques and the parameters that affect them. The paper describes the radon control work that was conducted in the houses and summarizes the results of that work. It does not include a detailed analysis of the relationship between the parameters affecting system performance. |
