Abstract
The Office of Mobile Source Air Pollution Control within the Environmental Protection Agency has the responsibility to monitor emissions from in-use passenger vehicles in order to assess the impact of these emissions on air quality throughout the county. The mobile source emission estimation model, MOBILE2, (an updated version of MOBILE1) has, as a major component, emission factors which are ultimately used to assess the impact of mobile emissions on air quality. The objective of this task order is to analyze emissions data gathered by the California Air Resources Board (CARB). This analysis will then be compared to the results of the California emission factors derived by the EPA from data gathered in Emission Factor Programs. EPA will use this relationship to compare California and Federal emissions for vehicles with similar technologies.
