| Abstract | This document presents the findings of an extensive study of a segment of the asbestos manufacturing industry for the purpose of developing effluent limitations guidelines and Federal standards of performance for the industry. The development of data and recommendations in the document relate to a portion of the asbestos manufacturing category which contains the major water users in this industry. Subcategories include asbestos-cement pipe, asbestos-cement sheet, asbestos paper (with starch and elastomeric binders), asbestos millboard, asbestos roofing products, and asbestos tile. Manufacturing processes, wastes, control technologies, and costs are discussed. |
