Abstract
The bioassay procedures given in this manual were developed to provide tests for conducting toxicity evaluations of waste materials considered for ocean disposal under EPA's Ocean Disposal Permit Program. The procedures specify the use of various organisms representing several trophic levels. Both flow-through and static tests are included. Methods given vary in their utility and complexity of performance. The procedures are not intended to be considered 'standard methods,' but, depending on the judgment of the EPA Regional Administrator responsible for the managing of the permit program, are to be used as reference methods or official methods.
