Abstract |
General Provisions are being promulgated for 40 CFR Part 63 (a new part) which will include national emission standards for hazardous air pollutants (NESHAP) for source categories to be established pursuant to Section 112 of the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990 (CAAA). The promulgated general provisions eliminate the need to repeat general information and requirements within these standards; they include 'generic' information, such as definitions of terms, and sections that spell out the administrative responsibilities of EPA and the compliance responsibilities of owners or operators who are subject to a relevant emission standard or other requirement. The document contains a summary of changes to the rule since proposal and a summary of the public comments on the proposed rule and EPA's responses. |
