Abstract
Immediate pollution control needs covering the interstate as well as the major intrastate streams in the South Platte River Basin in Colorado are described. The prime purpose of this report is to focus attention on known sources of pollution which affect legitimate and beneficial water uses, including the aesthetic environment of the streams. The findings, conclusions, and recommendations are based on detailed engineering studies. The immediate needs identified have to do with municipal waste sources, industrial waste sources, outfalls as sources of pollution, and cattle feedlots. Institutional practices are discussed, along with the cost of immediate pollution control and abatement, and recent progress. A bibliography is included.
