Abstract
The publication explains the three basic physical-chemical nitrogen removal techniques available for application today. Ammonia stripping, selective ion exchange, and breakpoint chlorination. All of these approaches have the advantage that they are based on the removal of nitrogen in ammonia form. The advantages and disadvantages of each of these processes are discussed in detail and the processes are compared.
