Abstract |
The report is presented as six separate sections, and each section describes the results of one separate research investigation in detail. The sections are the following: The effect of hydrocarbon chain length on the adsorption of sulfonates at the solid-water interface; The aggregation of colloidal alumina dispersions by adsorbed surfactant ions; The heat of immersion of alumina into aqueous sodium dodecyl sulfonate systems; The adsorption of alkylbenzene sulfonates at the alumina-water interface; The effect of surface charge on the adsorption of sodium dodecyl sulfonate by an oxide adsorbent; The effect of inorganic electrolytes on detergent adsorption at water-solid interfaces. |
