| Abstract | The project consists of an analysis of the Babcock and Wilcox (B&W) Cyclone Furnace Vitrification process. The SITE Demonstration took place at the B&W Research and Development Division in Alliance, Ohio. The vitrification process was performed on a synthetic soil matrix (SSM) that was spiked with known concentrations of semivolatile organic compounds, metals, and simulated radionuclides. The Demonstration effort was directed at obtaining information on the performance and cost of the process for use at other sites. Documentation will consist of two reports. This Technology Evaluation Report (TER) is contained in two volumes and describes the field activities and laboratory results. |
