Abstract |
This Air Program Strategy for Attainment and Maintenance of Ambient Air Quality Standards states EPA's strategy for implementation of the Clean Air Act's requirements for compliance with ambient air quality standards, to be achieved principally through adherence to air quality-based emission limitations. This strategy also applies to the control of pollutants less pervasive than those covered by air quality standards. These less pervasive pollutants are generally subject to direct emission-oriented controls. This document contains a statement of the Agency's objectives and plans for future air pollution control efforts, based on the requirements and philosophy of the Clean Air Act and on the national status of air pollution control. This document should be considered both as a status report and as an outline of directions for the future. |
