| Abstract | In 1961 the City of Birmingham and Jefferson County, Alabama, in the interest of the control of air pollution, conducted a short-term, two-season air quality study. Air samples were collected for measurement of dustfall, suspended particulates, smoke shade, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, total oxidants, carbon monoxide, and hydrogen sulfide.
