Abstract
In this study, a Control Volume Streamline Upwind (CVSU) procedure which conserves mass, computes positive concentration, and gives small numerical diffusion, has been used to model the advection. The concentrations for an elevated point source (located at 1.2 times the building height above the ground) behind the center of the leeward wall are computed and compared with available wind-tunnel measurements. The CVSU procedure gives better results than the upwind procedure. However, the CVSU procedure over-predicts the measurements by more than 60%.
