Abstract
The 3-acre Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) site is an active semiconductor manufacturing facility in Sunnyvale, Santa Clara County, California. The site is part of a larger study area that includes four Operable Units (OUs): the AMD 901/902 site, the Signetics site, the 1-acre TRW Microwave site, and a 100-acre offsite contaminated ground water plume. Currently, the contaminated ground water is not used as a drinking water supply, but the State considers several of the aquifers to be potential drinking water sources. The Record of Decision (ROD) collectively addresses final remediation of soil and ground water in the four separate OUs within the study area. The primary contaminants of concern affecting the soil and ground water are VOCs including PCE and TCE; and other organics. The selected remedial action for the site is included.
