Abstract
The U.S. EPA's Office of Toxic Substances (OTS) maintains a unique capability for monitoring human exposure to potentially toxic substances through the National Human Adipose Tissue Survey (NHATS). This report deals with the measurement of trace elements in selected adipose tissue specimens from the FY82 NHATS repository. The analyses of nine selected adipose tissue specimens from the FY82 NHATS repository were completed using two multielement techniques: inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-AES) and neutron activation analysis (NAA). A total of 18 elements were detected using the two techniques and the estimated tissue levels are reported.
