Abstract
An aerial noise monitoring system was developed to measure the noise produced in communities. The system consists of a tethered helium filled balloon which lifts an F.M. telemetry sound measuring system to altitudes of 300 m. A ground station receiving the telemetry signal demodulates it so that the noise at the microphone can be heard and analyzed on the ground. Volume II is a handbook which presents operational procedures for the aerial monitoring system.
