Abstract |
The report contains information gathered as a by-product of the field test for the Injury Reporting and Information System. Although absolute for the eleven public and four private participants, conclusions do not necessarily apply to the solid waste management industry as a whole. The need for IRIS arises from the extremely high incidence and severity rates for injuries associated with this industry, and from the fact that no data are at present available which can be used to set priorities for injury reduction programs or to monitor their success. The purpose of the field test was to design a workable injury reporting and analysis system. |
