Abstract
Exposure of applicators and mixerloads to chlorobenzilate in Florida citrus groves was monitored on each person with dermal cellulose pads attached at 12 locations on the body and with personal air monitors worn by each subject. Urine samples were analyzed for the presence of chlorobenzilate metabolites. Applicators received about four times the dermal exposure of mixer-loaders but did not have significantly higher urinary metabolite levels. Respiratory exposure was uniformly low. Disposable coveralls reduced urinary metabolite excretion rates 24%. Disposable coveralls and hand protection covering the wrist afforded practical protection.
