Notes
In 1912 was established a section of the Journal called Foreign review, which included abstracts of articles in engineering periodicals printed in foreign languages only; in 1914 this section was extended by the addition of a review of the proceedings of engineering societies; by resolution of Oct. 8, 1915, it was voted to include in the Journal a review of the world's technical press, and accordingly this was begun in the number for Jan. 1916, in the section entitled Engineering survey. With the broadening of scope of the Journal and its consequent change of title to Mechanical engineering in Jan. 1919, the Engineering index (formerly published in the Engineering magazine, later, Industrial management) was incorporated with it; the monthly instalments are cumulated annually as in previous years, and published in volume form.
Contents Notes
"History of the American society of mechanical engineers. Preliminary report of the committee on Society history," issued from time to time, beginning with v. 30, Feb. 1908.
