Abstract |
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has sponsored the development of a software system to assist environmental personnel in conducting risk assessments at hazardous waste sites, and also in reviewing assessments generated by contractors for correspondence with EPA and State standards. The computerized system, called Risk Assistant, combines a series of tools, including databases, expert exposure and risk values. These tools are provided in an IBM-PC format, with a user-friendly interface that allows a user to begin using the system quickly with little or no training. |
