Abstract |
Two types of Thermoluminescent Dosimeters, commonly used for environmental radiation monitoring, were evaluated and compared. The study consisted of approximately four months of field evaluation as part of a pre-operational survey at a nuclear power plant. The evaluation consisted of comparing the average microroentgens/hr readings obtained at each of eight sites for the period of the study. The precision of reproducibility for both systems was determined to be approximately 3%. The difference in the average microroentgens/hr readings for the two systems ranged from 16% to 30% at the various sites. |
