| Abstract |
This is a data report presenting the species and abundance of phytoplankton in the 16 lakes sampled by the National Eutrophication Survey in the state of North Carolina. Results from the calculation of several water quality indices are also included (Nygaard's Trophic State Index, Palmer's Organic Index, and species diversity and abundance indices). The collection and analysis of phytoplankton data were included in the Survey in an effort to determine relationships between algal characteristics and trophic status of individual lakes. |
